Great to meet you!

Hi there! I'm Rhett Edwards, a licensed counselor in the Spring–Klein area of northwest Houston. I work with adults, teens, and couples through talk therapy, Brainspotting, and LENS neurofeedback — in person and online across Texas.

I have a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a MA in Organizational Leadership. For over 20 years I've worked in education, training, and human services. I bring that experience into my practice. For the hour you're in the room, you have my full attention — no rushing you through a script, no reducing you to a diagnosis. You're a whole person with a story, and that's where we start.

Life can feel like a mess of colors, cluttered on a canvas.

It's my job to help you see and use those colors to produce the beautiful mosaic that it is — so you can live with greater freedom. Therapy is an artform, unique to each person.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is an artform, unique to each person. There's no single script that works for everyone, so I don't use one. Some weeks we'll talk things through. Other weeks we might use a more focused tool — Brainspotting to work with trauma the body is still holding, or LENS neurofeedback to settle a nervous system that's running too hot. What stays constant is the feel of it: honest, unhurried, and human.

Everyone resonates differently, so I adapt — some moments need a direct question, others need room to breathe. And I try to keep an honest view of my own place in it: I'm not saving anybody. I'm one person. We might meet twice, we might work together for a year, or you might find a counselor who fits you better — and that's a good outcome too. But for the hour you're in the room with me, you have my full attention. Almost nobody gets that anymore, even from the people they love. Here, it's the baseline.

What you can expect from me

A lot of people picture therapy as lying on a couch being analyzed. That's not how I work. A session with me feels more like a real conversation — honest, unhurried, and grounded in where you actually are.

Alongside talk therapy, I offer two focused tools when they fit: Brainspotting, which helps the body release stuck trauma and anxiety, and LENS neurofeedback, a gentle, drug-free way to settle a nervous system that won't slow down.

Being invited into someone's story is an honor. I'm humbled by it every time. Thanks for your consideration.
