Great to meet you!

I began my career as a therapist over 20 years ago and am currently in private practice. I am an EMDR certified therapist and treat patients with PTSD including C-PTSD. I also use Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I view therapy as a safe place to explore relationships, whether those relationships are with people (family, co-workers, partner) or things (food, money, alcohol) and most definitely the relationship with yourself. in addition to helping clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-prioritization, I also feel an important part of therapy is addressing limiting beliefs and the social, economic, and cultural influences on a person. The process of therapy should be a collaborative one, with the client seen as the “expert” on their life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered on creating a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore and understand the relationships they have with themselves and others, including people, substances, and life circumstances. Drawing from my 20 years of experience, I integrate various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR for trauma, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I work with clients to address anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-prioritization while helping them identify and challenge limiting beliefs. I also place emphasis on understanding the broader social, economic, and cultural factors that influence one's experiences. Above all, I see the client as the expert in their own life, and the therapy process is a partnership aimed at fostering meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to take away a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, both with others and with the world around them. They will gain valuable tools to manage anxiety, depression, and life transitions, and work through trauma, such as PTSD or C-PTSD, using evidence-based approaches like EMDR. They will also learn how to challenge limiting beliefs and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Additionally, clients will develop a stronger sense of self-prioritization and confidence in their ability to navigate challenges. Ultimately, the goal is for clients to leave sessions with practical insights, skills for emotional regulation, and a renewed sense of empowerment to make meaningful changes in their lives.
