Great to meet you!

My name is Rhonda Porter, and I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Addiction Studies.

As a therapist, I am committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe healing begins when individuals feel accepted and affirmed, and I strive to create an environment where you can openly express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I work collaboratively with clients to navigate life’s challenges, including past trauma, family and intimate relationship concerns, and personal growth struggles. My approach is strengths-based, helping clients identify and build upon their personal strengths and resilience while developing effective coping skills.

I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Together, we work toward meaningful change and support you on your journey forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe each person brings unique experiences, strengths, and resilience to the therapeutic process. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and affirming space where clients feel supported and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace.

I work alongside clients to identify goals, build coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges, including trauma, relationship concerns, and personal growth. Therapy is a partnership, and I value meeting clients where they are while supporting meaningful and sustainable change.

What you can expect from me

The first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. During this session, I will take time to understand what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. You are encouraged to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

We will review important background information, discuss confidentiality, and talk about what therapy may look like moving forward. This session is also a time for you to ask questions and determine if my approach feels like a good fit for your needs.

My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where you feel heard and respected. There is no pressure to have everything figured out—therapy is a process, and the first session is simply the beginning of your journey toward growth and healing.
