Hello! My name is Rhyan Rodriguez. I am an LCSW in Florida and Pennsylvania. My main experience in the therapeutic setting is working with clients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, trichotillomania, skin picking, and phobias. I have spent my time working with both young children, adolescents and adults (8-60 years old).
I have worked with many clients experiencing different subtypes of OCD, including Harm OCD, Contamination, Scrupulosity (religious and morality), Sexual Obsessions, "Just Right" OCD, False Memory OCD, Relationship OCD, and magical thinking. I can include loved ones in session, if that is a preference, to help discuss how to approach OCD with you and how steer away from accommodating the OCD and supporting you instead! I specialize in using Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and behavioral activation modalities to treat my clients. I also have training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) to address trauma symptoms, so am uniquely in the position to work with clients both experiencing OCD and trauma.
I strive to meet my clients where they are at in their therapy journey. Not everyone comes into therapy at the same step of the process, and I am willing to take treatment at the speed that works for each individual. This is a collaborative process that will be guided by you. Realistic weekly goals or focus points will be set at the end of each session to keep clients on track for the time in between sessions. I take a mixed style to therapy with the start of session being more non-structured patient led and middle to end of session being more structured to work on exposures, tasks, behavioral activation for depression, and plan for weekly homework.
