Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in both psychiatric and medical care. Before becoming a psychiatric NP, I worked for many years as a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner in hospital and outpatient settings. That experience helps me look at mental health from a whole-person perspective, not just symptoms alone.

I work with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, mood symptoms, sleep difficulties, and life transitions. My goal is to provide thoughtful, respectful, and practical psychiatric care where clients feel heard, not rushed, and involved in decisions about their treatment.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and patient-centered. I take time to understand what symptoms you are experiencing, how they are affecting your daily life, what has helped or not helped in the past, and what goals you have for treatment.

When medication is appropriate, I focus on careful prescribing, clear education, and ongoing monitoring. I want clients to understand why a medication is being considered, what benefits to look for, and what side effects or concerns to watch for. I also consider sleep, stress, medical history, lifestyle factors, therapy, and coordination with other providers when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a thorough psychiatric evaluation. We will review your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, sleep, substance use, safety, past treatment experiences, and goals for care.

We will also talk about any previous medication trials, including what helped, what did not help, and any side effects or concerns. By the end of the visit, we will discuss diagnostic impressions and treatment options together. The plan may include medication, lab work if appropriate, therapy recommendations, lifestyle considerations, or follow-up planning. My goal is for you to leave the first visit feeling heard, informed, and clear about the next steps.
