Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Richard L. Davis, LPC. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and lasting change, regardless of the challenges they have faced. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout your journey.

I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and have dedicated my career to serving individuals, families, and communities through counseling, education, and ministry. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, chronic illness, and loss of purpose. I also have a passion for supporting justice-involved individuals as they rebuild their lives and create healthier futures.

Whether you’re navigating a difficult season or simply looking to improve your emotional well-being, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you as we pursue meaningful and lasting change together.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective therapy is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine respect. Every client brings a unique story, so I tailor treatment to meet your individual needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

My work integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Therapy, and trauma-informed care. Together we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical coping strategies, develop healthier ways of thinking and responding, and work toward goals that matter most to you.

I strive to balance compassion with honest encouragement, creating a space where you can explore difficult experiences while building confidence, resilience, and hope. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-informed counseling that thoughtfully incorporates spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process while respecting individuals from all backgrounds.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. My priority is creating a welcoming environment where you can share your concerns at your own pace without fear of judgment. We’ll discuss what has brought you to therapy, explore your personal history, identify your strengths, and begin clarifying the goals you hope to achieve.

Rather than trying to solve everything in one appointment, we’ll work together to develop a plan that feels realistic and meaningful for you. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss any concerns about the counseling process, and leave with a clearer understanding of how we can work together moving forward.

My hope is that you’ll finish your first session feeling heard, understood, and encouraged, knowing you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.
