Richard Gonzalez graduated with a Master in Clinical Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University. Richard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Before his studies at FGCU, He was in the rental business and felt that He was in his calling when He did volunteer work helping people in the US and abroad. After much thought and consulting with family and friends, Richard decided He wanted to work more hands on helping hurting people through counseling. His philosophy is ultimately to make a difference in the world by helping hurting people. Richard believes we are all born with a purpose to make the world a better place. Sometimes, many of us while growing up knew exactly what we wanted to be or do. For others, it is a process of self-discovery. Richard Gonzalez helps individuals, groups, and families make sense, find harmony, peace and purpose in their lives.

Richard's specialty is to connect, partner, link up with clients/patients and help them to cope, make sense of their unique experiences through different counseling modalities and skills. Some counseling modalities that He works with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focus, Client Centered approaches, and Christian counseling.

Richard is currently private practice in southwest Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Some of his experience is working with different psychiatric conditions and substance abuse. Richard has experience with group counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, individual counseling, and teaching psycho-educational groups. Clients can expect to leave many of his sessions with a sense of peace, calm, or possibly even clarity.
