Great to meet you!

Mental health problems are difficult for the people around us to see, understand, and they frequently don't know how to help you. Congratulations! By taking this first step, you have begun your path to a healthier and more productive path in your life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) and an Alaska certified Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor (LPCS). I have been a licensed behavioral health professional for 16 years and in the behavioral health field since 1982. I have worked with customers from several different cultures and traveled to several different Alaskan villages where I provided counseling to the residence of the villages. My focus is on customers that are 18 and older and have worked with customers experiencing a wide range of problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and others.

My approach to therapy

I approach customers knowing they may have been traumatized in some way, and my goal is to provide therapy in a manner that is not retraumatizing to them. My focus is helping my customers feel safe, respected, listened to, and also heard so they feel comfortable sharing their own unique story with me. Then help empower them to better manage their feelings and thoughts in a healthier and more productive manner.

What you can expect from me

My goal is for customers to leave sessions feeling respected, supported, listened to, and heard. I also want customers to feel comfortable asking questions and feel they received honest and helpful answers. I also want customers to leave sessions knowing some tools and techniques they can use to help them better manage their problems.
