Great to meet you!

My name is Richard Harris, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the ability to provide therapy in Virginia. I have over 25 years of experience in the Counseling field working with individuals and families, both online and in a community setting.

My approach to therapy

I like to take a holistic, warm and yet challenging approach to therapy. I endorse several therapeutic modalities to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe that the individual person is the most important and that your relationship is 80% of the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

In the first therapy session, I focus on understanding who you are and what brings you to therapy while acknowledging the courage it takes to start this process. We will explore which therapeutic approaches suit you best, clarify your expectations of me as your therapist, and identify your goals for treatment. I also incorporate homework assignments and provide feedback throughout our sessions.
