Great to meet you!

Hey! My name is Riley, though I go by Katie. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping people heal, grow, and rediscover their strength. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from East Tennessee State University, and throughout my career I have supported survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, walked alongside individuals and families during hospice care, and helped people navigate substance use and recovery. These experiences have strengthened my belief that healing is possible, even after life’s most difficult moments. I support clients working through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, substance use concerns, life transitions, low self-esteem, and feeling stuck. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where you can be yourself and begin rebuilding confidence, hope, and direction.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, individualized, and collaborative. I understand that no two people have the same story, so I tailor treatment to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. In session, we may explore what has been weighing on you, identify patterns that keep you feeling stuck, build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, process painful experiences, and create practical steps toward the life you want. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use recovery, relationship challenges, or major life changes, I am here to support you every step of the way. My style is warm, honest, and supportive, with a focus on helping you feel heard while also building tools for real change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on creating a safe, compassionate, and comfortable space where you can begin sharing what brings you to therapy at your own pace. We will talk about what you have been experiencing, what feels difficult right now, and what you hope will feel different moving forward. This may include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use concerns, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in life. I will take time to understand your story, your strengths, and your goals so we can begin creating a plan that feels realistic and supportive. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and reminded that healing and change are possible.
