Great to meet you!

My name is Riley Goldstein and I was born and raised in SC! I have always known I wanted to work with children and families in some way, and through my undergraduate education at The University of South Carolina, I found counseling was the path for me! I continued my graduate education at UofSC and was able to receive my EdS in Licensed Professional Counseling with a certificate in Play Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered on creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can express themselves, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills. My professional experience has been rooted in providing school-based mental health counseling through Lexington School District One. I have worked closely with children, adolescents, and their families. This experience has allowed me to support students facing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, family transitions, & school-related stress. I specialize in child-centered play therapy, as well as a trauma-informed strength based approach.

My goal is to help children better understand their emotions, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the tools they need to navigate life's challenges. Whether your child is struggling with emotional, behavioral, or social concerns, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports lasting growth and positive change!

What you can expect from me

I work primarily with children, adolescents, teens, and families. I strive to create a counseling space that feels warm, welcoming, and free of judgment. I want my clients to know that they don't have to have all the right words or know exactly how to explain what they're feeling. We can figure it out together. I hope to create a warm, inviting, and accepting environment in my room!
