Great to meet you!

My name is Rina L. Gutierrez, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I am bilingual. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Florida International University, followed by a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida.

Today, I run my private practice, Metamorphosis Counseling II Inc., in Miami. Through my work, I help individuals, couples, families, adolescents, men, and women take meaningful steps toward emotional stability and healing. I believe that healing is a holistic process that involves the mind, body, and spirit—and that true transformation comes from the courage to confront, overcome, and evolve.

My passion for mental and emotional wellness extends far beyond my office. I’ve dedicated myself to raising awareness and providing guidance through various platforms. I recently launched a podcast called DAHA (Desde Adentro Hacia Afuera) and a YouTube channel, where I share tools, insights, and reflections on mental health topics that matter deeply to me and my audience.

That same passion led me to write my first book, Diseño Interior: Emociones en Construcción. In it, I invite readers on a transformative journey of self-discovery and emotional healing. Using the powerful metaphor of a house, I guide them through the different “rooms” of their inner world—emotions, memories, and wounds—and encourage them to reconnect with their original design.

My mission is simple but profound: to help people heal from the inside out.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach draws from a variety of techniques and modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs. In our initial sessions, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship and gaining a deep understanding of the client’s lived experience. I support clients in exploring their inner world, increasing awareness of unresolved issues or past traumas that may be limiting their ability to live fully. Together, we examine how past experiences, including family dynamics, influence current behaviors, emotional responses, and relational patterns.

Sessions focus on addressing specific concerns, with particular attention to recent emotional challenges, to identify patterns between past and present experiences and underlying core beliefs. I often assign small, manageable tasks—such as thought tracking—as homework to encourage self-reflection and empower clients to take ownership of their growth. Each session concludes with a brief reflection to consolidate insights and reinforce progress.

What you can expect from me

My goal in our first session is to help you feel comfortable and safe in the therapeutic space. I understand that starting therapy often brings questions and concerns, and I welcome them. I strive to be an empathetic, non-judgmental listener and hope we find that we are a good fit to work together. I am here to support you as you move toward a healthier, more stable, and happier life.
