Great to meet you!

If you’ve landed here, something in your life feels heavy, stuck, or just a little too loud. I’m so glad you’re taking this brave step to look for support. My name is Rina Villanueva, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I’ve spent most of my time so far laughing, playing, and problem-solving with kids and teens, but my heart and schedule are wide open to every age, 6 or 80, you’re welcome exactly as you are.

My approach to therapy

I’ve spent most of my time so far laughing, playing, and problem-solving with kids and teens, but my heart and schedule are wide open to every age, 6 or 80, you’re welcome exactly as you are. Picture this: you sit down (or log on) and finally let the weight out. I’m not here to rush in and “fix” you. I’m here to listen like a friend who truly hears you, ask gentle questions, and walk beside you until your own answers light up. No worksheets, no fancy therapy-speak—just two people in the same room, breathing the same air, finding your way home to yourself. I love slipping in tiny pockets of calm: a slow breath together, a quick body-scan, or a two-minute “magic breathing” break that melts the day’s tension. Kids giggle and call it superhero training; adults tell me they leave feeling lighter than they have in years.

What you can expect from me

I always start with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. We’ll work together to figure this out! I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.
