Great to meet you!

Hi there. My name is Rio Bauce and I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 5 years of experience, passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges and create lasting change. I know that finding a good therapist is really important and extremely challenging.

I offer a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach to therapy, and I specialize in supporting those with HIV-related issues, relationship concerns, stress, anxiety, and identity-related challenges, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community.

I hold a Master's in Social Work and work with clients on life transitions, self-worth, and emotional support. My practice incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques, tailored to each person's unique needs.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered and rooted in a combination of psychodynamic theory, motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. I believe that every individual is unique and special, so I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and help you address both current challenges and deeper emotional concerns.

With psychodynamic theory, I explore how past experiences shape present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Motivational interviewing (MI) is particularly helpful for individuals navigating alcohol or substance use concerns, as it focuses on uncovering personal motivations for change and supporting you through the process. CBT helps challenge negative thought patterns, and I incorporate mindfulness techniques to promote emotional regulation, self-awareness, and stress management. CBT is evidence-based and effective!

My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can gain insight, develop resilience, and work toward personal growth.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to leave our sessions with a deeper understanding of yourself and practical tools to manage life’s challenges. Whether it's gaining insight into past experiences, learning how to shift unhelpful thought patterns, or developing skills for emotional regulation, my goal is to help you feel more empowered and confident. You’ll also walk away with actionable strategies to navigate stress, improve relationships, and create lasting change.
