Great to meet you!

I am an LCSW/Psychotherapist. I earned my Masters from Adelphi University in 1981. I have Post Masters Training in Psychoanalytic Therapy; Eating Disorders; CBT; DBT; ACT; EMDR; Trauma Focused Therapy. I offer individual, couples, family and group sessions by video and phone, with unlimited text. I am passionate about my work. I have the utmost respect for my clients’ courage. Their willingness to do the difficult work has always been an inspiration to me.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My philosophy is to approach each person as unique with personal strengths. In a supportive/collaborative atmosphere clients will explore ingrained and disruptive patterns, towards growth, improved self esteem, and better relationships. I approach people as Mind/Body. Therapy is a means to develop skills for coping. It is a collaboration, involving curiosity, open mindedness and humor, an exciting, adventurous practice in detective work. Let’s embark on the journey.

What you can expect from our first session

I believe that each session should be guided by the present needs of the client. Goals are ever shifting. We will, in sessions, work to use new insights to problem solve new issues as they arise. My hope is that at the end of sessions a client will walk away saying, “Hmm, I’ve never thought of it that way before.”
