Great to meet you!

I’m Rita, a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who specializes in working with adults struggling with addiction and substance use. I know that reaching out can be hard—especially if you’re still drinking or using, or you’re not even sure you’re ready to make a change. You don’t have to have it all figured out before we talk, and you won’t be judged for where you are right now. We’ll just start there.

My approach to therapy

My approach is conversational, collaborative, and practical. I want to understand what’s happening in your life, what you want to be different, and what may be getting in the way—without deciding for you what change is supposed to look like. We’ll look at patterns together, figure out what’s actually helping and what isn’t, and develop realistic strategies that fit your life. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll take it from there.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really just a conversation. You’ll have the space to tell me what’s been going on, in your own way and at your own pace, and I’ll listen without judgment or assumptions. You don’t need to come in with a goal, a plan, or even certainty that you want things to change. We’ll start with where you are and figure out what comes next together.
