Having been a clinician in this county for over 30 years I have come to recognize the position of honor I am placed in to join in another's walk through some of the most difficult parts of their lives. I take this responsibility seriously and endeavor to fully hear, respect and build the trust needed in the healing process.
I approach each new client with an attempt to fully understand their perspective as well as the context of their situation. I tend to engage easily and also try to make the atmosphere warm inviting and safe.
I hope that the individual will be able to challenge some of their perspectives especially in regards to self and I challenge them to be more attentive to their reactions and internal dialog.
