Rivkah Kaufman

Welcome! I am a NY- and NJ-licensed psychotherapist, an EMDR Certified Therapist, and offer both in-person and virtual therapy. Throughout my 14-year professional career, I have worked with adults facing past and/or ongoing trauma, as well as the behaviors and symptoms arising from defensive attempts to keep their trauma at bay. If you experience similar challenges, I can help you process your trauma in a supportive, validating environment that is empowering and ultimately, freeing.

I combine trauma-focused, mindfulness-, and insight-based psychotherapies to help my clients cope with everyday challenges and see how they relate to long-standing behavior patterns. I am compassionate and direct and invite my clients to collaborate with me in working on their therapy goals.

Often clients aren't sure why they're facing the difficulties that bring them to therapy. I want to help them develop a clearer sense of what they're facing, why, and the ability to explore their options given their new awareness and insight. I want to encourage security in the rapport we build over time, and in the knowledge that irrespective of their situation, throughout our work together, I will be encouraging, non-judgmental, and focused on helping them achieve their goals in a warm, affirming environment.
