Great to meet you!

Hello. My name is Dr. Robert Hirsch and I am a licensed psychologist in California, having been in practice for 30 years. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, addiction and compulsive behaviors, relationship issues and LGBT related issues. In addition to clinical work I have a significant background in forensic (legal) issues including workplace issues.

My approach to therapy

As a psychologist and personal coach, I view my work as a collaborative process where I join my client in defining and moving toward his or her goals and individual journey. At the heart of a strong therapeutic alliance are real trust, non-judgment and the balance of support and challenge. I believe that my role isn't to have the right answers, but is about having the right questions.

What you can expect from me

The first couple of sessions are about learning about you and you deciding if I feel comfortable for you as well as establishing 'measurable' goals. The focus of therapy and how long we continue to meet are based upon your goals and needs and most importantly how much you follow through with what you decide is important for you.
