Robert Magnuson

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with more than 15 years of professional experience, I've had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama and have specialized training in substance use treatment as a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (QSAP I) and Children's In-Home training/ Case Management. My experience also includes extensive case management while providing therapy to patients navigating life-changing medical events, including serious hospitalizations and chronic illnesses such as kidney disease, dialysis, cancer and amputations.

My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Gestalt therapy, a humanistic, experiential approach that emphasizes self-awareness, personal responsibility, and living fully in the present moment. Together, we'll look beyond the immediate problem to understand the whole picture of your health and well-being, identifying patterns, strengthening resilience, and developing practical strategies you can engage in everyday situations.

I am in the process of being Certified in ADHD therapy.

• I am also working towards my C-PSTP certification- Comprehensive Polyvagal-informed Somatic Trauma.

Clients can expect to have a deeper understanding of their presenting concern(s) while feeling more at ease with the issue, possible solutions and gain personal healthy habits.

Initial assessment will entail identifying and categorizing the severity of need for each issue and verbalizing desired outcomes.
