My clients tend to feel challenge with: anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem, sexual orientation, gender identity, transitioning, relationships, communication, grief/loss, and adapting to change. My practice has tended to focus on supporting LGBTQIA individuals, health care providers and men who want to expand their emotional life and deepen authentic relationships - though I have also certainly worked with women and gender non-conforming individuals. Working in a public health center for 5 years has brought me into contact with a wide variety of people and life circumstances, which informs the therapeutic process with other clients.
My approach is mindfulness-based and trauma-informed, relying heavily on humanistic and relational approaches through Gestalt Therapy. I also use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, a strengths-based approach, and brief/solution-focused interventions.
