Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Robert Spaulding, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) a Certified Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and also a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC). I have over 30 years of experience working in Mental Health counseling individuals, families, children, and adolescents. I also have over 50 years of experience in Long-term Recovery and working in the substance abuse & treatment profession.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is interactive, practical, engaging, empathic, and direct. I believe the key to change in therapy results directly from (HOW) the atmosphere of a therapeutic relationship is initially developed. I believe in creating an atmosphere based on Honesty, Open-mindedness, and Willingness (HOW) with great emphasis on Mutual Respect. This is HOW the journey begins, on the road that leads to pathways of change.

What you can expect from me

My goal in working with you is to help you focus on identifying your strengths and helping you maximize them in overcoming your obstacles. Also, we can explore possible answers to some of your questions regarding your specific issues and help you seek what pathways may exist in providing solutions to these issues. I hope that we can gain insight and clarity into some of the questions and concerns you may raise.
