A bit about my approach to therapy

My primary approach to counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which I am certified to do through a 1-year training from psychologists at the Aaron Beck Institute. (Aaron Beck created the foundation for CBT). CBT is an evidence-based, effective treatment for many mental health issues. Rob has a unique perspective also having been trained in person-centered and psychodynamic music therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

I will work hard to understand and affirm the feelings and experiences that have brought you into my office. I will be warm and use a lot of humor, but also be direct and confronting when needed. There will always be space for you to vent and express what is on your mind, but I will also work collaboratively with you to identify your goals, stay focused on them on our sessions, and find solutions to help you reach them.
