Great to meet you!

I am a compassionate and experienced psychiatric provider dedicated to helping individuals achieve better mental health and overall well-being. My healthcare journey began as a physician in Cuba, where I practiced medicine for many years and developed a strong clinical foundation in patient care.

After moving to the United States, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and later completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). For more than 10 years, I have worked alongside psychiatrists and multidisciplinary mental health teams, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and supporting individuals living with a wide range of mental health conditions.

I believe that effective mental health care starts with listening. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to participate in their treatment. I take a collaborative, evidence-basedapproach, developing personalized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and lifestyle recommendations.

I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, and other psychiatric conditions. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help each person regain hope, improve daily functioning, and build a more fulfilling life.

I am committed to treating every client with empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity, recognizing that healing is a partnership built on trust and open communication.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is centered on compassion, respect, and collaboration. I believe that every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and involved in their treatment decisions. I take the time to listen carefully to each client's concerns, understand their unique experiences, and develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their goals and values.

I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic perspective, recognizing that mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors. My treatment approach may include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies to help clients improve their emotional well-being and quality of life.

With more than a decade of experience working alongside psychiatrists and multidisciplinary mental health teams, I have cared for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, and other psychiatric conditions. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive, nonjudgmental care in a safe environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns openly.

My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. Together, we work not only to reduce symptoms but also to strengthen resilience, restore hope, and support lasting recovery and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my priority is to get to know you and understand what brings you to treatment. I create a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly discuss your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and goals at your own pace.

We will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, reviewing your emotional and physical health, medical history, current medications, past treatments, and any factors that may be affecting your well-being. I also encourage you to ask questions so that you feel informed and comfortable throughout the process.

By the end of the first appointment, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of your diagnosis, treatment options, and recommendations. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals when appropriate. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful, with a clear plan and confidence that we are working together toward your recovery and long-term mental wellness.
