Great to meet you!

With a passion for both teaching and counseling, I returned to school and completed an M.A. in Education from the University of Denver in 1994 and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado in 1996. I worked initially as a middle school counselor, and then as a staff psychotherapist and parent educator at a community counseling center. In 2005 I opened my own psychotherapy practice.

An avid learner, I continue to explore new ways to facilitate awareness, healing and empowerment in the clients I am honored to work with. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, an EMDR Therapist, a parenting consultant, and Certified Grief Educator, and a graduate of Boulder’s Hakomi Institute for Experiential Psychotherapy. I regularly attend trainings in trauma resolution, grief and loss, attachment, mindfulness, body-centered therapy, and ego state therapy.

Additionally, as a parent myself, I continue to learn each and every day. There is no training quite like parenting. It is the most humbling, enlightening, challenging and ultimately, rewarding and life changing job I have ever had.

In my free time, I enjoy time with friends and family. I love the outdoors and relish moments hiking, kayaking, swimming, or simply being in nature.

My approach to therapy

I’ve supported people through all kinds of life challenges, and I’ve weathered my own. I know how vulnerable it can feel to reach out—and how healing it can be to be met with compassion, acceptance, and hope. I see therapy as a powerful opportunity to reconnect with the deep well of strength, wisdom, and resilience that lives within you. Together, we’ll work as a team to bring fresh perspective and clarity to the challenges you’re facing.

With a deep passion for working effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively, I’ve spent the past 25 years learning and implementing a wide range of therapeutic modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Experiential Therapy, Play Therapy and Mindfulness. This broad foundation allows me to tailor our work to your specific needs in a creative, flexible, and evidence-based way. Many clients find this integrative approach relieving and rewarding.

What you can expect from me

It is quite common for people to feel reluctance and/or fear about entering into therapy and approaching challenging or triggering emotions and memories. Over the last 20 years I have developed a highly individualized, compassionate and uplifting approach to come along side clients and guide them in gently working through the challenges they are experiencing. With enough time, space, presence, and companionship, I have found that any challenge can and will evolve into something tender and transformative. Clients find their experience in therapy to be relieving, liberating, meaningful and empowering.
