Great to meet you!

I believe counseling starts with just a conversation between two people working together to make real and lasting changes. I will meet you where you are and then walk the journey with you to get you where you want to be. You will be provided with a non-judgmental environment where you can talk openly. Even though we all have the desire to change, change can be hard and many times we struggle to be consistent and find ourselves going in circles. I am your advocate, and with consistent therapy, I can be the person who helps you set your goals and then stay on track to achieve them.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 39 years of experience. My specialties include: depression, anxiety, OCD, and bipolar. I also have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, emotional crisis and relationship issues. I am known for a warm, practical approach to helping clients construct the lives they want.

I have been providing online counseling exclusively for the last 8 years and find that it is a very safe and therapeutic option for many people. Online counseling can work, and in my experience, there are three ingredients needed for effective therapy: a desire for change, evidence-based therapy, and a positive relationship with your therapist.

My approach to therapy

My style is to get to know you first and understand what your goals are. I will listen and ask questions, and provide a safe environment for you to share. I use different approaches based on the needs and goals you have: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Problem Solving Approach are included, but not limited to, the types of therapies I use in treatment.

What you can expect from me

The first session is just a conversation between the two of us. I work to provide a warm and safe environment so you can feel comfortable talking about the reasons you are coming to counseling.
