Great to meet you!

I grew up in the Midwest and tend to be direct. I have had a great deal of success in my years of experience. I still wear Converse, adore hippos, and get along well with teenagers because they often make a lot of sense. I am open-minded, accepting, and find therapy to be so much more rewarding than self help books and Instagram. I, myself, have had to work through difficult situations in my life. I bring to the session a back ground of understanding and a desire to make life a more hopeful and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

I believe the therapy relationship is critical to success. I use a wide variety of therapeutic modalities. The most important thing to me is genuineness, honesty, acceptance and authenticity. I like to have fun/effectiveness in therapy because we all have sat in therapy and went over how the week went. While that is important, there is much more to what has brought you into therapy. Exploring and accepting one's self can be truly healing. While I do provide compassion, empathy and support, I also use a number of modalities which challenge, confront (with compassion and humor), and assist in self-exploration.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will address what brought you into therapy and determine what you hope to get from therapy (goals). We will discuss what has worked for you and what hasn't, while exploring ways to cope with your current situation.
