Great to meet you!

I have been working in the mental health field for over 9 years, in residential, intensive outpatient, and private practice settings. In undergrad, I majored in Psychology with a concentration in Mindfulness Studies and a minor in Addiction Studies. For my Master's degree, I studied Clinical Psychology. My areas of interest and specialty are in trauma of all forms, addiction, and mood and anxiety disorders.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy with the intention of making my clients feel seen and heard and I do this through attentive and empathic listening, which brings about sensitivity to the needs of the moment. I focus on increasing connection to oneself, including thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, by creating a safe and grounding relationship that allows us to be curious and explore. The goal is to increase insight into painful patterns and help provide capacity for healing and transformation.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect to be given space to share what brings you to therapy and what you see yourself working on. I am also flexible in providing guidance to those who are new to therapy and either unsure of what to share or unsure of how to describe their experience. In accordance with that, I am happy to collaborate with you in creating goals and desired outcomes. Overall, my hope from the first session is that you felt heard and cared for and as though a bit of the weight or burden you've been carrying has lifted.
