Great to meet you!

My name is Rocio Suao. After serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner for several years, I chose to expand my career into psychiatric mental health because I recognized the growing need for accessible, compassionate mental health care in our communities. I earned my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from St. Thomas University.

My experience in family practice allows me to approach mental health from a whole-person perspective, considering both physical and emotional well-being. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where every patient feels heard and supported.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. I work closely with each patient to understand their concerns and develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects their needs, values, and goals. It is my privilege to support individuals as they work toward improved mental health and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you can share your concerns at a pace that feels comfortable. I will take time to learn about your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, lifestyle, personal experiences, and treatment goals.

Together, we will discuss how your emotional and physical health may be connected. I will answer your questions, explain possible treatment options, and collaborate with you to create an individualized care plan. Depending on your needs, this may include medication management, supportive interventions, education, lifestyle recommendations, or referrals to other resources.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and informed about the next steps in your care.
