Great to meet you!

Transparency, trust, awareness, consistency. These terms and more inform how we show up for ourselves and others. Each brings with it questions that can be difficult to navigate on our own. There is a need to improve ourselves or our life; yet it is unclear on how one even starts or maintains it. This is especially true if you a part of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities as getting support and building community does not come with a guide and can change as you change. Focusing on what you can control can be a goal and it seems less and less obtainable with the oppressive systems we live under no matter the communities you are in.

My approach to therapy

This is where I can be of assistance; As someone who has lived experience as a Black trans nonbinary polyamorous person I have had to navigate this and more on my life journey. I know the importance of someone being there to listen and assist you in making sense or better decisions. I can offer guidance though, ultimately, you lead the session as you are the expert of your life.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a casual conversation where we review the reason why you are seeking therapy, my various backgrounds, and anything of importance within your backgrounds(race/gender/sexuality/etc). I then will continue regarding history of the reason for referral as well as supports and strategies you have utilized that have brought you to possible therapy with me. I end with the question around if you would like to continue with me as your therapist and will provide my response as well. I inject humor and active listening skills throughout as a way to cultivate comfort and value towards your experiences.
