Great to meet you!

Hello everyone. I'm Roderick. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience, specializing in PTSD, depression, anxiety, couples therapy, and anger management. A Prairie View A&M graduate and retired U.S. Marine with 21 years of service, I have extensive experience working with military veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. I use an interactive, cognitive behavioral approach, offering tailored, practical support to help you overcome challenges and achieve personal growth. I am dedicated to helping individuals and couples build on their strengths with compassion and understanding.

My approach to therapy

I provide a supportive, compassionate, and direct approach to therapy. I help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect and identify practical steps toward meaningful change. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can speak honestly, strengthen relationships, heal from difficult experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping.

What you can expect from me

I bring a warm, engaging, and down-to-earth style to therapy while maintaining a professional and purposeful environment. Together, we set practical goals such as improving communication, strengthening relationships, managing difficult emotions, healing from painful experiences, and building healthier thought and behavior patterns. I use compassion, honesty, encouragement, and appropriate humor to make sessions comfortable and meaningful. My goal is for clients to leave each session feeling heard, supported, hopeful, and equipped with something useful to practice—while looking forward to continuing the work.
