Great to meet you!

I was a jazz guitarist during my 20s. As an undergrad, I double-majored in psychology and English with emphasis on film studies. Initially I wanted to be a film screenwriter until my interest shifted to psychology. I was fortunate to be mentored by Dr. George Atwood during the mid-to-late 80s, which was a life-changing experience. I was content for many years working in crisis but eventually decided that I wanted to start a private practice.

My approach to therapy

I typically work with clients who tend to feel depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, over-stressed, or "stuck." Things aren't working in their life. They're at a loss as to what to do to improve their sense of well-being. They would love to be happier but what they're doing isn't working. So they're reaching out to see what can be done to get things on track.

My approach combines Humanistic, Existential, Jungian, Reality Therapy, Psychodynamic, Person Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral modalities.

What you can expect from me

Three main areas we can work on together are: 1) better understand how you got to be the person you are, 2) heal from injuries and solve problems that prevent you from being happier, and 3) gain greater insight and clarity on what will potentially make you happier and how to realistically work toward that.
