Great to meet you!

Hello there! My name is Roger, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over four years of experience supporting individuals through various mental health challenges.

I earned my Master's degree from Loyola Marymount University and have a diverse professional background, including working with individuals experiencing severe mental health conditions, overseeing a residential mental health treatment program, and supporting children and adolescents as a school counselor.

These experiences have shaped my understanding that everyone's journey is unique. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges, better understand themselves, and develop the confidence and skills needed to improve their overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual's needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on understanding how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another.

I also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques to help clients become more aware of their emotions, manage stress, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.

I believe that therapy is not about telling you what to do, but rather working together to identify patterns, explore new perspectives, and develop practical coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially if it's your first time, and that's completely understandable. My goal during our first session is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment where we can begin getting to know one another.

We will spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, any challenges you may be experiencing, and what you hope to accomplish through our work together. I will also ask questions about your background, personal experiences, and current support systems to better understand your unique situation.

There is no pressure to share everything during our first meeting. I believe building trust and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship takes time. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and exploring how therapy can best support you moving forward.

Above all, I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
