Great to meet you!

Life has a way of handing us challenges we didn't ask for — a hard relationship, a season of uncertainty, a painful event that won't loosen its grip. I believe those moments, as heavy as they are, can also become openings: chances to understand ourselves more honestly and build a life that actually feels like ours.

I'm Roman, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the founder of Inner Myths Counseling. I work from an existential and humanistic lens, which really just means I care less about labels and more about you — your story, your values, and what a meaningful life looks like from where you're sitting. I work with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of ages.

And as a fellow human being, I've had my own share of suffering — I know what it's like when life doesn't go the way you hoped. You won't get a blank-faced expert across from you. You'll get a real person who's genuinely in it with you.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is a real conversation, not a script. We'll move at a pace that feels safe, building enough trust that we can look honestly at the patterns, questions, and stuck places in your life — and make sense of them together.

I draw from existential, humanistic, and Jungian approaches, along with tools like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative work, and positive psychology. In plainer terms: we'll explore what actually matters to you, get curious about the parts of your story that feel unfinished, and work toward choices that move you toward the life you want.

I also don't take myself too seriously — expect warmth, curiosity, and the occasional bit of humor along the way.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly about getting to know each other — no pressure to have it all figured out or to explain yourself perfectly. We'll talk about what brought you in, what's felt hard lately, and what you're hoping might be different.

From there, we'll start to notice the patterns worth paying attention to — including the places where avoiding something might be keeping you stuck — and begin naming what you'd like therapy to help you move toward. My hope is that you leave that first session feeling a little more seen, and a little more in the driver's seat of your own life. There's no pressure to commit beyond that first conversation.
