Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Roman, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut with eight years of clinical experience in the United States and Latin America. I support people from many backgrounds who are navigating trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, abuse, narcissistic abuse, ADHD, and immigration-related challenges. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how relationships, culture, and environment can shape the way we see ourselves and the world. The most common feedback I get from clients is that I am relatable, caring, and easy to talk to. I treat people like real people, not just a list of symptoms or problems. Building a strong, trusting connection is an important part of the process that I take very seriously, aiming to engage in co-created, and transparent collaboration with my clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based and strength-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). While I use different tools depending on your needs, ACT and IFS are central to my work. My goal is for you to show up to a space where you don't need to pretend or feel you have to have everything figured out. Together, we can explore the patterns that no longer support the life you want, so you can get closer to overcome barriers to independence, move towards living a meaningful life according to your values, achieve you goals, and transition to being more grounded and confident person who lives life with clarity and intention.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily about building safety, understanding your goals, and getting a sense of how we might work together. We will go at a pace that feels manageable. If something feels too intense, confusing, or simply not useful, we can pause, shift gears, or talk about it directly.
