Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Romy Dorado, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with over 12 years of experience in the therapy field. Ofrezco terapia en español.

In my practice, I work with individuals from all walks of life, including children, adolescents, adults, and those on the Autism Spectrum. I’ve worked with a wide range of populations, including those struggling with substance use, and have helped individuals with disabilities in finding job opportunities and navigating their careers. Currently, I provide mental health support in school settings, helping children and teens cope with personal and academic challenges while fostering their emotional well-being.

As a mom, I understand firsthand the demands of balancing family, work, and self-care. This experience has deeply influenced my passion for helping women and mothers find a sense of balance in their lives, while also prioritizing their own mental and emotional needs. I believe that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

I’m committed to listening and guiding you as you navigate life's challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, stress, or significant life transitions, my role is to offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel heard. Together, we’ll explore your strengths and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence.

My approach is rooted in empowerment and support. I am here to guide you as you work through difficulties, offering the space and resources needed to build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

My approach to therapy

I create a warm, safe, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I see therapy as a collaborative journey, we work together to discover what approaches and tools resonate best for you. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, tailoring our work to your unique needs and goals, so you can feel empowered to grow at your own pace.

I believe personal growth is like tending a garden: with patience, care, and the right tools, even small steps can lead to meaningful change. “Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together,” and in therapy, we cultivate those forces together.

What you can expect from me

My approach is built on respect, kindness, and acceptance, ensuring that you feel safe and affirmed every step of the journey. Whether you're navigating a significant life change or simply looking to reconnect with your true self, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll create a path forward that feels authentic to you, one that fosters healing, growth, and lasting relief.

On our first sessions we will focus on getting to know you and your goals towards therapy. In our work, you’ll not only gain valuable insights and practical tools, but you’ll also develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and confidence. I believe in your strength and resilience, and I’m committed to walking alongside you as you overcome obstacles, find clarity, and embrace the changes you wish to make.
