I am a counselor from Florence, SC. I graduated from Francis Marion University with a Master of Science in Applied Psychology in Clinical Psychology. I am licensed as a professional counselor. I provide counseling for children, adults, and families in the Florence location. Previously, I worked in the educational system (14 years) with preschool and elementary-age children.
I have devoted the last 13 years to working with children, adolescents, and young adults with behavioral, relational, and social issues, as well as those with a traumatic history. I also have experience working with high school and college students on transitioning, with college and career goals. As a counselor, I offer compassion, encouragement, and growth in counseling, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and animal-assisted therapy. I also incorporate the Adlerian Theory (positive approach), as well as play and art interventions, to increase self-expression.
Our first session is mostly about getting to know you, understanding what brought you here, and ensuring this feels like a safe, comfortable space for you. We will discuss your current concerns, explore some background, and start outlining your goals together. It is not just about me gathering information—this is a chance for you to see if I’m the right fit for you, in a safe place where you can be vulnerable without judgment.
