Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, committed to providing compassionate, affirming, and client-centered care to individuals across the lifespan. I hold a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), formerly known as UTPA.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, and I deeply value the opportunity to support clients through each unique stage of life. My approach is warm, respectful, and grounded in the belief that every person has inherent strengths and the capacity for growth and healing.

In our work together, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside my clients to explore challenges, identify goals, and build practical tools that support emotional well-being and resilience.

Whether you are navigating life transitions, emotional distress, relationship concerns, or simply seeking greater self-awareness, I aim to meet you where you are with empathy and authenticity. My goal is to help you feel supported as you move toward meaningful change, greater clarity, and a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, grounded in the belief that every person has inherent strengths and the capacity for meaningful growth and healing. I aim to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at their own pace.

I draw from evidence-based practices while tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs, goals, and cultural background. Rather than taking a “one-size-fits-all” approach, I work alongside clients to identify what feels most helpful and relevant for them. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and supporting emotional regulation and resilience.

I also place a strong emphasis on collaboration and transparency in the therapeutic process. Clients can expect to be active participants in their care, with therapy that is practical, goal-oriented when needed, and always guided by compassion and respect.

Ultimately, my goal is to support clients in developing greater self-awareness, improving emotional well-being, and moving toward a more grounded, balanced, and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where they are invited to share at a pace that feels comfortable for them. My priority is to help you feel safe, heard, and supported as we begin to build a therapeutic relationship together.

We will start by discussing what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. This may include current concerns, symptoms, life stressors, or any specific goals you have in mind. I will also ask some background questions to better understand your history and the context of your experiences, but there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss.

Together, we will begin identifying initial goals for therapy and explore what a helpful path forward might look like. I view this as a collaborative process, so your input is central in shaping the direction of our work together.

You can also expect me to explain how therapy works, answer any questions you may have, and review important information such as confidentiality and session structure. My goal is to ensure you feel informed, comfortable, and empowered from the very beginning.

Most importantly, the first session is about connection and establishing a sense of trust. Whether you are seeking support for a specific concern or simply trying to understand what you need right now, I will meet you with empathy, respect, and care as we begin this journey together.
