Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Rosalba, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that has been officially licensed since 2009 in the state of California. Sometimes the hardest part is admitting that what you have been managing on your own is not getting any lighter. I work with teens and adults who are living with anxiety, depression, or the weight of something that happened to them, and with couples and families who want to stop repeating the same painful cycle. I see clients in English and in Spanish. Since 2009 I have worked with individuals, groups, couples, and families, much of that in the nonprofit world, where people often came to me at their most overwhelmed.

My approach to therapy

Together we work toward changes you can actually feel in your week: sleeping through the night, arguing less, catching anxiety before it takes the whole day. If you have lived through violence at home, or something else that still shows up in your body, we move at your pace so that talking about it does not mean living it again. With families, our goal is that everyone leaves understanding what is happening and what their own part in changing it looks like. I work well with people who are willing to try something small between sessions, and with clients who want a therapist who is warm but also direct. What I want is for you to reach your full potential.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly me listening. You do not have to have it organized or know how to explain it, and you will not have to tell me everything at once. I will ask what brought you here now and what you would like to be different, and by the end we will have a starting point. If it has taken you a while to get to this page, that makes sense. When you are ready, reach out and we will begin. Estoy aquí para ayudarte.
