Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience. I received my NP training at Duke University and my PhD at The University of Texas at Austin. Throughout my career, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and life experiences, and I strive to create a welcoming, respectful environment where every patient feels heard. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with each individual and provide thoughtful, individualized care that supports long-term mental wellness. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management primarily for adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. I have a particular interest in evidence-based ADHD evaluation and medication management and welcome patients whose needs are a good fit for my practice.

My approach to therapy

I believe outpatient psychiatric care should be collaborative. I take time to understand each person’s unique experiences, goals, and concerns before developing an individualized treatment plan together. My recommendations are guided by current evidence while also considering your preferences, lifestyle, and overall health. I value open communication, patient education, and shared decision-making so you feel informed, respected, and actively involved in your mental health care.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, we’ll spend time getting acquainted with each other and discuss your reasons for seeking care. I will ask about your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, lifestyle, family history, and personal goals so I can gain a complete understanding of your needs. Together we’ll develop an initial treatment plan, discuss medication options when appropriate and make sure you have plenty of time to ask questions. My goal is for you to leave the initial appointment feeling heard, informed, and confident about the next steps.
