Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Rose Adonis, a billingual (English/ Spanish) board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I understand that reaching out for psychiatric support isn’t easy especially if past treatment didn’t help or left you feeling rushed or unheard. I take the time to slow things down, listen carefully, and understand what you’re actually experiencing.

I work especially well with individuals who have been struggling with depression that hasn’t fully improved with past treatments, including treatment-resistant depression. Many of my patients come to me feeling frustrated, discouraged, or worried because they have “tried many medications” and are still not feeling like themselves.

Some patients experience ongoing mood swings, low energy, lack of motivation, intrusive thoughts, difficulty sleeping, or challenges with focus and daily functioning. My goal is to help bring more stability, clarity, and relief over time.

I stay up to date with newer medications and treatment options and thoughtfully explore these when appropriate, especially for patients who have not responded well to traditional treatments. Care is always individualized, collaborative, and paced in a way that feels safe and manageable.

I offer culturally sensitive care and take time to understand each person’s background, values, and lived experience. Services are available in English and Spanish, and I strive to create a respectful, supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and involved in their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is thoughtful, honest, and collaborative. I incorporate supportive therapy and psychoeducation into visits so you better understand what’s happening with your mental health and feel more confident managing symptoms outside of appointments. I believe care works best when you’re involved, so I explain options clearly, discuss benefits and risks openly, and welcome your input at every step. We make decisions together, at a pace that feels realistic and comfortable for you.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, supportive space. We’ll talk about what has been bringing you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from care. There’s no pressure to share everything at once you’re welcome to go at a pace that feels right for you.

I’ll ask questions about your symptoms, your history, and how things have been affecting your daily life. Together, we’ll discuss options for treatment and create a plan that feels realistic, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. You’ll also have time to ask questions, share concerns, and talk through any worries you may have.

This first visit is about listening, understanding, and taking the first step toward feeling better while making sure you feel respected, supported, and involved every step of the way.
