Great to meet you!

My name is Rose Thomas, and I bring over a decade of comprehensive experience in nursing, with a strong background in family practice and chronic disease management. I began my career as a registered nurse, providing bedside care on a cardiac floor, before earning my Master of Science in Nursing from Downstate University.

During my years of service, particularly in underserved communities, I became acutely aware of the critical shortage of psychiatric services available to patients. This realization motivated me to pursue further specialization, and I subsequently obtained a post-master's certificate in psychiatry from Maryville University.

My practice philosophy is rooted in patient-centered, compassionate, and evidence-based care. I am committed to creating a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel valued and empowered in their mental health journey. My dual expertise in physical and psychological health enables me to take a holistic, integrative approach to each individual's needs. My goal is to support clients in achieving meaningful and lasting well-being, as well as a higher quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to working with clients is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and concerns. Building trust and rapport is central to my style, and I believe in empowering individuals to take an active role in their care.

I specialize in integrating physical and mental health, drawing on my background in family practice and psychiatry. This allows me to consider the whole person—addressing both medical and psychological needs—to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

My areas of focus include managing mood disorders, anxiety, and the mental health challenges associated with chronic medical conditions. I am committed to evidence-based practice and continuous learning, ensuring that my clients benefit from the most current and effective interventions. Above all, my goal is to support each client on their path to improved well-being and resilience.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a thorough, respectful, and collaborative approach to medication management during our sessions. My focus is on understanding each individual's unique health history, concerns, and goals to develop the most effective treatment plan possible.

Clients will leave sessions with a clear understanding of their medication options, how their treatment supports both their mental and physical well-being, and what to expect in terms of benefits and possible side effects. I prioritize open communication, patient education, and shared decision-making, so clients feel confident and informed about their care. My aim is to support each person in achieving stability, improved functioning, and a higher quality of life through evidence-based medication management.
