Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Rosemarie — a trilingual therapist (English, Spanish, and Italian) with a doctorate in social work and 20 years of clinical experience. My background spans outpatient mental health, forensic settings, and work with first responders and justice-involved clients. That breadth means I can meet you where you are, whether you're navigating anxiety, a major life change, trauma, eating concerns, or something you haven't quite found words for yet. I work with adults, teens, children, and families. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming and bring a culturally humble lens to every session.

My approach to therapy

I'm eclectic — which means I don't apply one method to every person. I draw on EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches depending on what fits you and what we're working on. I work from a trauma-informed and culturally humble foundation, which means I take seriously how your history, community, and background shape what you're carrying. I ask real questions. I don't rush the process. I also believe that feeling genuinely seen by your therapist isn't a bonus — it's the work.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want to hear what's bringing you in — in your own words, at your own pace. I'll ask questions that help me understand you more fully, but this won't feel like a checklist. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of how I work, and I'll have a real picture of what's most helpful for you. We'll also talk about what you'd like to accomplish, not in a rigid goal-setting way, but so we have a shared direction. Most clients tell me the first session feels more like a conversation than they expected. If it feels like a good fit, we'll go from there.
