Great to meet you!

I first received my Master's in Guidance & Counseling in the 1990s from Hunter College in Manhattan and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I have also been a practicing, licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years. I have clinical experience providing empathic mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups and have treated anxiety, trauma, depression, personality and eating disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. I have also treated physical disease conditions and physical trauma with mind/body techniques. Each client is unique, and raising awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the focus in working collaboratively and intentionally towards realistic solutions.

My approach to therapy

As we develop a relationship, you can expect a safe and nonjudgmental space to share your unique experience. We will explore your situation, and together we will define solutions, realizations, and a path towards change and healing.

What you can expect from me

From the first session we will begin to discuss your concerns and to develop a relationship that emphasizes genuine care, careful listening, and honest feedback. You will be encouraged to think deeply, to brainstorm options, and to believe that change is possible. With determination, we will work to implement the changes you would like to make in your life, increase your confidence level, and set realistic goals.
