Great to meet you!

Rosemary Hollingsworth is passionate about serving children, adults, and families who have experienced challenges, traumas, and loss. She believes in the dignity and value of all people and brings expertise in trauma interventions to resolve the distress and disorder that gets in the way of healthy living. Her experiences at Regional Victim Crisis Center and Abilene Independent School District have been invaluable in helping grow skills of understanding and healing. Through her own life experiences and educational endeavors at Hardin-Simmons University, she has grown to accept herself and others with a no shame, no judgment disposition.

My approach to therapy

I look forward to walking the journey of healing with my clients as we focus on purpose, meaning, and nurture throughout life's challenges. Each person is divinely created and has the capacity to experience growth throughout life's journey. Trauma and loss create challenges to our function and connection, and there is hope that can be found through relationship, interventions (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, and Low Energy Neurofeedback), and internal strength.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I look forward to building safe and connected rapport through an Adverse Childhood Experience Assessment that can reveal family dynamics, childhood challenges, and the current distress that may be leading to change. Education around brain development and the neuroscience around trauma, triggers, and associated turmoil bring new awareness that often leads to understanding and forgiveness of self that is required on the journey of healing.
