Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Rosemary. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and follower of Christ, and I founded Wide Awake Therapy to help individuals experience emotional healing and spiritual renewal. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling and have spent years walking alongside clients through anxiety, trauma, grief, and major life transitions.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in both clinical skill and faith. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and narrative therapy with a Christian worldview. Together, we’ll explore your story in a way that connects emotional awareness with spiritual truth and personal growth.

I specialize in treating anxiety-related disorders—including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and trauma responses—as well as supporting clients through relational wounds, identity challenges, and faith-related concerns. I primarily work with adults and young adults and offer both virtual and in-person sessions. In-person appointments are available and are typically scheduled after an initial virtual consultation to ensure the best fit and care plan.

I’m continually humbled by how God meets us in our pain with hope and transformation. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy family life, creative expression, and cultivating meaningful rest. I believe healing involves the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and it’s a privilege to walk alongside others as they rediscover peace and purpose.

If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk with you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, experiential, and deeply collaborative. I believe healing unfolds in the context of safety, insight, and connection—where structure and compassion work hand in hand.

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and trauma-informed care to support emotional regulation and healing from distressing experiences. I also draw on mindfulness, DBT-informed skills, and narrative practices—such as guided imagery and reflective writing—to help clients find clarity, meaning, and renewal in their stories.

As a Christian counselor, I weave faith-based principles, biblical truth, and spiritual reflection throughout the process, helping clients anchor their emotional healing in God’s redemptive work and holistic renewal of mind, body, and spirit.

What you can expect from me

The first session is designed to help us get a clear picture of what’s bringing you to therapy and how current challenges are impacting your daily life. Together, we’ll explore the emotional, relational, and spiritual factors that may be contributing to your stress or distress. This time also allows me to assess patterns, strengths, and areas of concern so we can create a plan that fits your needs.

You may hear me use diagnostic language during this process, but my goal is to help you understand—not label—what’s happening. A diagnosis provides a framework for treatment and helps identify the most effective path toward healing.

Clients often leave the first session feeling understood and with a clearer sense of direction. From there, we begin shaping goals and exploring practical tools to support emotional regulation, faith integration, and functional well-being.
