Great to meet you!

My job is to remind you that showing up for yourself is powerful and you don’t have to do it alone. I’m Roshunda, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, Virginia, and Colorado, and the proud founder of Evolving Thru Art Inc. Over the years, I’ve worked in community health, domestic violence shelters, juvenile detention, and with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as clients navigating OCD. These experiences taught me to meet people exactly where they are and honor the courage it takes to seek support. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston–Downtown and my Master of Education in Clinical Counseling from the University of Houston–Victoria. Today, I specialize in women’s issues, life transitions, anxiety, and depression bringing warmth, humor, transparency, and creativity into therapy so you can discover your strengths and build a life you feel good in.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like teamwork. My style is collaborative, affirming, and empowering. I meet you exactly where you are, while bringing warmth, humor, and transparency into the process. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered, Solution-Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, along with integrative techniques tailored to your needs. I also enjoy weaving in creative expression, because sometimes art or movement can communicate what words cannot. Whether we’re tackling anxiety, navigating a life transition, or building self-worth, my goal is to help you feel capable, confident, and supported every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

In sessions with me, you can expect a supportive, affirming space where your voice matters and your progress is celebrated. I value transparency and will always explain what we’re working on together. I assign “Growthwork” between sessions practical steps that help therapy continue after our time ends because lasting change happens both inside and outside the therapy room. As I often remind my clients, “Without change, there would be no butterflies.” My hope is that you’ll leave sessions feeling empowered, capable, and equipped with tools to create meaningful growth in your life.
