Great to meet you!

I’m Roxanne Alderman, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas and my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health from the University of Alabama.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, patient education, and ongoing mental health support for adolescents and adults. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other common mental health concerns.

My approach is patient-centered and collaborative. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and understood, and I work with each client to develop an individualized treatment plan based on their goals, needs, and unique circumstances. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where clients can feel supported throughout their mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, patient-centered, and collaborative. I believe effective mental health treatment begins with listening and taking the time to understand each person’s unique experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals.

I provide thorough psychiatric assessments and work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, education, lifestyle recommendations, and ongoing support. I focus on evidence-based treatment while also considering the whole person, not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms.

My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being open and involved in their care. I believe treatment should be a partnership, and I work with each client to find an approach that supports their well-being and helps them move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment. We will take time to discuss what brought you to treatment, your current concerns and symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, and how your mental health may be affecting your daily life.

I will also take time to learn about your goals and what you hope to achieve through treatment. Together, we will discuss my initial recommendations and develop an individualized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss potential options, benefits, risks, and what to expect.

Most importantly, your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and collaboration. You do not need to have everything figured out before your appointment, I will meet you where you are and we will take it one step at a time.
