Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I love collaborating with clients as they embark on their wellbeing journey. I have spent 25 years in the helping professions. I work with a variety of clients, including those within oppressed communities: LGBTQIA, BIPOC, those struggling with maternal mental health, psychosis, depression/anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, grief, intimate relationships, and I am a poly-friendly therapist. I understand there are many paths to being healthy and whole. I attended UT Austin for undergraduate work in psychology and sociology, and Lamar University for a Master's Degree in Counseling & Development. I find great reward in witnessing a client's growth, healing, and change.
My approach to therapy stems from genuineness and a place of non-judgment. It is my goal that you feel safe to share your truth and goals for counseling. I believe the future is always negotiable and there is reason for hope.
Know that we will work collaboratively. Ideally, you feel safe to share your deepest concerns. Some topics may be difficult to discuss - ultimately you are in charge of what you get out of our sessions. I am here to serve as a guide, or advocate, and to help you think about things from a perspective you may not have considered previously. You may occasionally have "homework" in between our sessions to reinforce what we our working on together.
