Great to meet you!

I've been doing this work for 31 years, and I still take every new client personally. My practice is 100% virtual — which means if you're in Fargo, Bismarck, Williston, or a small town without a single therapist nearby, you can still access real, experienced support. I work with people of all ages — children, teenagers, adults, and seniors — and I've sat with all of it: trauma, PTSD, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship breakdowns, eating disorders, life transitions, and the kind of exhaustion that doesn't have a clean name. I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Cigna, Carelon, and other major insurance plans. Distance and cost are not barriers here.

My approach to therapy

I use evidence-based methods — primarily CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy — but the methods always serve the person, not the other way around. I'm warm and direct. I'll challenge you when it's useful and slow down when you need space. I pay attention to the cultural, relational, and social context of someone's life, not just their symptoms. And I believe that the most important thing that happens in therapy isn't a technique — it's someone finally feeling understood well enough to start moving forward.

What you can expect from me

A conversation, not an interrogation. The first session is about helping me understand what brought you here and what you're hoping for. I'll ask questions, but I'll also listen for what's underneath the answers. You won't leave with a rigid plan or a diagnosis on a sticky note — you'll leave having been heard, with a clearer sense of what we're working toward together. Most people feel a little lighter after the first session, even if nothing has "changed" yet. That shift is real, and it's worth starting for.
